The Borough of Oradell has partnered with award-winning planning and urban design firm Burgis Associates, Inc. to outline the revitalization of our downtown district. Jointly, we will be hosting a Public Open House with the goal of having members of the public - residents, business owners, government officials, developers, activists, etc. - participate in an open discussion about the future of our Central Business District.
This meeting - known as a charrette - will be a live planning session where members of the community, designers, and other stakeholders work on developing a vision for the Borough's downtown. The planners and designers have already reviewed key elements such as parking, streetscape design, business development and land use, to name a few, and will introduce conceptual ideas to attendees. The format of the charrette, through presentations, Q&A, and breakout groups, allows participants to give immediate feedback to the designers, and assure a collaborative process.
The intention of an Open House is to have all those with a vested interest take part in the planning and design process to produce a set of ideals that will be documented to hopefully address most if not all aspects of this project. Most importantly, it allows YOU to be a co-author of this plan.
Please come and join us, and be part of this exciting real-time exercise. We look forward to seeing you!
